Janelle Monáe Frees Herself

Janelle Monáe is crying in her spacesuit. It's early April in Atlanta, and she's in one of the basement studios of her Wondaland Records headquarters, surrounded by computermonitors and TV screens, one of them running a screensaver that displays images of her heroes: Prince, Martin Luther King Jr., Pam Grier, Tina Turner, Lupita Nyong'o, David Bowie. She's about to reveal, for the first time, something the world has long guessed, something her closest friends and family already know, something she's long been loath to say in public. As she sings on a song from her new album, Dirty Computer, "Let the rumors be true." Janelle Monáe is not, she finally admits, the immaculate android, the "alien from outer space/The cybergirl without a face" she's claimed to be over a decade's worth of albums, videos, concerts and even interviews – she is, instead, a flawed, messy, flesh-and-blood 32-year-old human being.

United Airlines Apologizes After Passenger's Dog Dies From Being Forced Into Overhead Cabin

A United Airlines passenger is mourning the death of her dog after flight crew forced her to store the poor dog in an overhead bin during her flight.

via NYDN:

The French bulldog was traveling Monday with its owner and her children from Houston to New York. A flight attendant ordered the passenger to store the dog in her carrier, passenger June Lara wrote in a Facebook post.

Other passengers reportedly heard the dog, believed to be 10-months-old, barking during the flight before it was found dead upon landing at LaGuardia Airport.

"There was no sound as we landed and opened his kennel," Lara wrote. "There was no movement as his family called his name."

Maggie Gremminger, another passenger, was heartbroken over the family's loss.

"I want to help this woman and her daughter," she tweeted. "They lost their dog because of an @united flight attendant. My heart is broken."

United Airlines said it was investigating the incident and expressed its condolences to the family.

"This was a tragic accident that should never have occurred, as pets should never be placed in the overhead bin," the company said in a statement. "We assume full responsibility for this tragedy and express our deepest condolences to the family and are committed to supporting them."

The airline's pet policy states, "A pet traveling in cabin must be carried in an approved hard-sided or soft-sided kennel."

"The kennel must fit completely under the seat in front of the customer and remain there at all times," the policy reads.

United needs to really think about the actions of their employees, first they dragged the man out his seat to a the bloody pulp.  Now they have killed someone’s dog???  What’s next?  Denying someone’s grandmother of their medication?

UPDATE:

VIA TMZ: United Airlines says its flight attendant did not hear or understand the woman whose dog was placed in an overhead bin -- but it's taking new steps to avoid a repeat disaster ... TMZ has learned.

United tells us by April it will start issuing "bright colored bag tags to customers traveling with in-cabin pets." The idea is the visual tag on a pet carrier will help flight attendants know for sure when someone's traveling with an animal.

The airline says that's exactly what didn't happen in the case of Catalina Robledo and her French bulldog, Kokito. United says after speaking to passengers and crew members, it believes Catalina did tell the flight attendant she had a dog in her tote bag carrier -- but the flight attendant "did not hear or understand [Catalina]."

United also repeated its earlier statement ... that the flight attendant did not knowingly place the dog in the overhead bin.

KEVIN FEIGE (MARVEL PRESIDENT) TEASES THE IDEA OF A STANDALONE TRILOGY THAT WILL STAR BLACK PANTHER'S OKOYE

We all know there have been talks of Marvel's 'Black Panther' but could they also be on track, but could there already be plans for a spin-off?

According to Kevin Feige (Marvel president), he's 'intrigued' by the idea of a stand-alone trilogy centered around Dora Milaje warrior Okoye -- played by Danai Gurira.

He says

"I think there's lots of potential. It's a balance between leaving people wanting more and then giving them too much, but I would watch a movie about any of those characters you just named. I think Shuri's astounding, and you'll see much more of her in our universe. Okoye, I think I'd watch three action films just Okoye. I'm not saying we're doing that, but I'm saying that we're intrigued by them. Frankly, as I've said before, finishing these first 22 movies is really all we're thinking about at this point."

I’m excited to see what else will come out of Wakanda they literally could make movies forever out of each of the tribes and well as the main characters.  I definitely want to see them introduce Storm in to this storyline.  Stay tuned to WTTRRADIO.com as we follow the #WakandaForever story.

Could Lil Wayne and Birdman Been Back on Track

Looks like Birdman and Wayne were reported hugging out at LIV Night club over the weekend.   Apparently they have been working on repairing their relationship for the past couple months.

via TMZ:

Sources connected to the former Cash Money duo tell us the $51 million lawsuit between them is still very much on, but they've managed to separate that from their personal relationship. As our source put it, "They're family and that's bigger than money."

We're told they've talked several times over the past few months, and although it's no longer the father-son relationship they used to have, they ARE making an attempt to squash the beef.

As for Sunday night's embrace at LIV -- Wayne had a section reserved downstairs, while Birdman was upstairs. Neither knew the other was there until DJ Stevie J shouted them out.

Birdman's son, Bryan Jr., came down and said "hello" to Weezy first, before Wayne stopped by Birdman's table where they hugged it out.

While all this is fine and dandy we are hopping that Birdman has ran Wayne his coins.
